Plato believed that most of us lived in ignorance most of the time. He also wanted us to imagine that we are in a cave and correspondently thinking we are in that period of timing. Think about if you are in a cave alone and you start a fire to keep warm, and then you make a sudden movement and you see something move, not knowing that its your shadow, what would you think? That either someone is in there with you or they are coming in. That’s what Plato wants you to think so you can understand the meaning of intellectual ignorance. They would turn back around to the safety of the cave because of the lack of sunlight and you have to readjust to such setting once again.
Plato asks “and wouldn’t they-if they-could-grab hold of anyone who tried to set them free and take them and kill them?” Mainly Plato wants us to know there might be an after life in the cave.

We are assuming that we know everything but with all the great assumptions that we have our mind can play tricks on us but we have to learn how to manage our thoughts and control the weary visions of what reality is....
