History of Walmart

    The first walmart supermarket was opened in 1962 in  Rogers, Arkansas. Wal-mart stores is an American public corporation which mainly deals with a chain of discount stores. Wal-Mart was founded by Sam Walton in 1962 and now according to the Fortune Global 500 it is the world’s Largest public corporation by Revenue. Wal-Mart was incorporated in 1969 and was listed in the New York Stock exchange in 1972. Wal-Mart is considered as the largest private employer in the world and it is placed fourth in utility and commercial employer trailing the British National Health Service and Indian Railways. Wal-Mart is known in different names through out the world. It operates as Walmex in Mexico. As ASDA in UK, Seivu in Japan, It has operations also in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Its operations in South America and China are a very successful ones. Sam Walton opened the First Wal-Mart discount store on july 2 1962 in Rogers Arkansas, within a span of 5 years a single store was expanded to around 24 stores  and also had sales of $12.6 million. In 1968 it opened its first store outside Arkansas in Sikeston, Missouri and Claremore, Oklahama.
