Executive Summary

This report has been prepared for providing a broad view of the management and performance of one non-profit corporation – Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) – in the public sector. The report has been separated through four parts. In this report, the issues through four parts – sector specifics, external environment, financial statement analysis, and non-financial performance indicator – will be investigated and discussed, to provide a broad view of the management of ABC, and look through the efficiency, effectiveness, and value for money which are the also labeled in the NPFM. Generally, although the corporation has unique advantage in broadcasting sector against the competitors in the favorable social and macro-economic environment, it is still recommended that the corporation should improve the efficiency in particular of the traditional broadcasting business.
