United Postal Service (UPS) has Value Chain Model in order to provide information customers. Value Chain Model is useful for internal and external customers and it can improve customers’ credibility. Value Chain Model also can attract more customers because it provides the best values for its customers. There are two activities of UPS’s Value Chain model.
The first activity of UPS’s Values Chain Model is UPS Support Activities. This Support Activities consists of Firm infrastructure, Human Resource Management, Technology Development, and procurement. The Firm Infrastructure should deal with their important aspects of Financial Policy, Accounting, and Community Affairs. UPS uses a continuous customer service educational system in order to make sure that UPS has the best service for customers. The customer service education system spans across all aspect of management. UPS uses technology to support company’s performance and improve customers’ satisfaction. UPS also uses the most sophisticated equipment in order to continuously track each package through every step of its delivery process. The equipments are available in the world to support the company’s activities.
The second activity of UPS’s Values Chain Model is Primary Activities. This Primary Activities consist of Inbound Logistic, Operation, Outbond Logistics, Marketing and Sales, and Service. Inbound and Outbond Logistics should deal with their customers’ parcel packages from dropping of delivering. The operation of the primary activity is supported by the scheduling, routes, and other transportation requirements to make sure that packaged are transported and arrived safely to their destination.
