ADVANCED LIST FORMATTING

The Bullets and Numbering dialog has three tabs. Any changes you make on these tabs-   reformats the selected list or make the selection into a list. By experimenting with the selections on these tabs, you’ll discover many ways to dress up your lists. Here’s a tour through the most important.

1.    Bulleted tab. Click any the boxes shown to choose a new bullet style. If you don’t care for any of the choices, or if you want fine the tune the indent of the list, click Customized to open the Customized Bulleted List dialog. That dialog features a few more bullet choices to select, and a Bullet button which opens a dialog for which you may choose any symbols to use a bullet.
2.    Numbered tab. Just like the Bullet tab, the Numbered tab offers a selection of different numbering styles, plus a customize button that opens a Customize Numbered List dialog. On that dialog, you choose among different numbering styles, and fine tune the indents (Number Position and Text Position).

              Fast Track

In care circumstances, you may choose restart the numbering
somewhere in the middle of the list. For example, you want the
list to be numbered from 1 to 10 then to start over again at 1 on the
              11th item.
