The Bead Bar

Bead Bar Network Paper
The Bead Bar is a growing business that is in desperate need of a reliable network that will benefit the company and customers. We have reviewed the Bead Bar and it s current technology and have made a recommendation for a network that will suit the Bead Bar. The network topology and network architecture will be set up to dramatically improve the issues the Bead Bar has been facing. We will also point out the advantages and disadvantages this network will have on the Bead Bar.
Founded by Meredith S. in 1998, the original Bead Bar studio is located in New Canaan, Connecticut. These Bead Bars allow their customers to sit at a bar and create their own bead jewelry using the materials that are provided. The company now has grown from a studio to three divisions: studios, franchisees, and Bead Bar on board. The six bars or studios are managed by the studio division. Their locations are New York City, Long Island, Washington D.C, and Boston, Massachusetts. The franchise division sells complete Bead Bar sets to customers that want to open their own Bead Bar. There are currently five franchises, Kansas City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Miami. The Bead Bar on board is designed for cruise ships. This allows the bar to be portable and can be placed in lounges and on decks aboard the ship. The supplies for the ships are also purchased through the Bead Bar.

The Bead Bar currently employs fifteen full time and twenty part time employees that work the studios. The annual revenue for the last three years has averaged $1.5 million dollars. The Bead Bar is currently still using paper based forms for orders and invoicing. This has caused many problems including fulfillment delays, lost merchandise, and incorrect invoicing.
