Gap Analysis: Global Communications
Global Communications is like many other telecommunications companies are facing a loss of revenue and an alarming drop in stock price in recent times. Pressurized by the Board of Directors and for its own sustainability, the senior management has to device strategies to counter the problem as soon as possible.
In the chapter Situational Analysis the identification of the problem and the opportunities to counter are discussed. The aggressive approach of the senior management is still need to get approval of the Board and has to pass the Union, a strong stake holder.
In the chapter Stake holder’s perspectives/Ethical Dilemmas the details about what are the concerns of the senior management, the union and employees is elaborated. Ethical dilemmas are the judgmental phases in one’s life where a choice has to be made of which the results are hard to predict.
In the chapter End state Vision the end state of the problem and possible solution are identified. A compromise formula of reaching to a win-win situation with the union is proposed keeping in view the long-term organizational goal and vision to sustain the market competition.
 In the chapter “Gap Analysis” a discussion on assessment on the present situation and the end state vision is initiated. The challenges to reach the end state vision and the path to take to achieve them are evaluated.
In the “Conclusion” chapter the ideas of the author are presented to summarize what went wrong with Global communications in the beginning and the impact of strategies they propose to adopt are detailed.
The tables towards the end of the document presents the issue and opportunity identifications, shareholder perspective, and end state goals are listed.
