Team Dynamics Team Dynamics “Over the last decade, the increased use of work teams within organizations has been one of the most influential and far-reaching trends to shape the business world,” as stated by White and Lean, (2007, para. 1). Team communication is the key to success. Even though some people work better without being apart of a team, teams have helped businesses to succeed each day because teams improve efficiency, speed, and team productivity while reducing common errors and mistakes. Teams have helped businesses to succeed each day. The word “team” consists of more than two members, and includes at least one leader. The expectation of each team member is the pursuit of common goals, the responsibility for the success or failure of the work, as well as, independence and cooperation with each other. Teamwork has become so successful that most businesses use this method of work. According to White and Lean (2007), “Approximately 68% of the 1,000 largest U.S.companies have adopted the system of teamwork design” (para. 3). Improvement of performance, productivity, cost reduction and employee satisfaction is just some of the numerous benefits that teamwork offers. The leadership in a team impacts everything from the successful accomplishment of team goals to various behavioral determinants of team members. “The work team has emerged as a key business concept, and unified team performance is now regarded as crucial to corporate success,” as mentioned by White and Lean (2007, para. 5).
