A planning tool used to analyze an organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats is called a SWOT analysis. The company begins the process with an analysis of the business environment in general. Then it identifies strengths and weaknesses. These are internal to the firm and can be studied relatively easily. Finally, as a result of the environmental analysis, it identifies opportunities and threats. These are often external to the firm and cannot always be anticipated.
I will be conducting a SWOT analysis for JavaNet. JavaNet is an Internet Café that will be the first coffee shop that offers internet classes and other services like printing, scanning, and full access to other software applications. This shop will be the only coffee shop in the area that will provide this type of services; therefore making it one of a kind in the town with possible growth. There are many things to keep in mind when opening up a shop like this both strengths and weaknesses.
Potential internal strengths for JavaNet is the having knowledgeable and friendly staff. This will be an important process in the hiring part. Choosing the most qualified candidates will be vital for management. The shop has potential for hiring a staff that works well together and one that can create a fun and energetic atmosphere.
