Problem Solution: Riordan Manufacturing
Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastics producer with revenues of $1 billion. Riordan is wholly owned by Riordan Industries and employees over 550 people. Riordan recently made several strategic changes in how Riordan manufacturers and markets Riordan’s products. Riordan is in the process of transitioning into a customer-relationship management (CRM) system due to a decrease in sales and profits over the past two years. Riordan is also dealing with employee turnover and motivational problems. Like many other companies, Riordan is also faced with the problem of unhappy employees who voiced their disapproval of Riordan’s current compensation and rewards system in Riordan’s annual employee survey.
Riordan’s employee pool encompasses three major demographic groups and that further complicates how to reward equally and motivate employees. Riordan’s senior leadership team is also divided on how to improve the problems facing Riordan. President and CEO, Michael Riordan is aware that a change must take place within the organization and Riordan has decided to employee the services of Human Capital Consulting to analyze the results of Riordan’s annual employee survey and make recommendations based on the consulting firm’s findings.
