Introduction
The economy of the United States took off after the Second World War. For more than two decades, the American economy has maintained a rapid growth rate and reached unprecedented prosperity. However, it is not true anymore. Situation changed and the large emerging economies now are the drive force of the world economy. Particularly, China now is the single most important contributor to the growth of the world economy. The great economic contribution of the United States and China make the relation between the two countries significant. The American Senator John Edwards (2006) has ever said that the relation between the United States and China has become the most important bilateral relationship in the world. The significance of this bilateral relationship will naturally become the hot topic in the American presidential election this year.
