“It doesn’t make any real difference whether you arrive at your views based on reasoning or not.”

Reasoning is a dependant series of thoughts based on the collection of information, a measure of consistency and completeness on the information, a formulation of generalities, and inductive/deductive/adductive inferences. When it comes to decision making and arriving at different views I think it is important to reason. Whether you reason or not when arriving at your on personal views, makes a really huge difference. We often will feel, perceive, think, remember and reason in an adaptive conscious and unconscious manner. Normally in our daily lives, when we are faced with problems or just a situation which require a decision, we are often reminded to apply some logic and reasoning for the best outcome. This is why logic and reasoning are so imperative in our lives. There are many everyday life situations in which the ability to reason is of great significance. If a person stands at a curb and there is a car approaching, his life literally depends on whether he is able to reason or not. If he can, he will understand the he must wait for the car to pass, otherwise it will run him over. Day after day, from moment to moment, we are busy interpreting surrounding facts and making predictions on what will happen next. When I walk down the sidewalk, it is my interpretation of the available evidence that leads me to the conclusion that it will be safe to cross the street. The moment those conditions change, for example if someone runs a red light I might have to reinterpret, and may then conclude  that it is no longer safe to walk across the street at that time.
