Ranbaxy is a leading pharmaceutical company with business span across the globe. It is one of the pioneers MNC which is based in India. My criterion for selecting this company for training was on the strength of its professional business practices and global outlook. Ranbaxy has business presence in 125 countries.
The finance department in Ranbaxy is headed by CFO which is based at their corporate office in Gurgaon.  The major finance departments are Business finance, internal audit, taxation and corporate affairs. The finance activities in Mohali are under business finance on Global Manufacturing. I did undergo the training in the finance department of global manufacturing based at Mohali. The department was known as centralized manufacturing accounts better called as CMA.
Ranbaxy has implemented and working under SAP based ERP (to be called SAP) for more than a decade. ERP is very important backbone in carrying out business, particularly for large size. Knowing its importance in finance management and for such a big size like Ranbaxy, I promptly selected my training assignment on accounting practices under SAP environment. My project title was “Study of the Financial Module of SAP R/3”.
The methodology was focusing on proper selection of title and guide followed by understanding on regular working in SAP environment and research project on productive versus SAP ERP. The research work was based on the questionnaire preparation, approval by guide and then feedback on questionnaire from the Finance Department personnel at Mohali. Subsequently the analysis was done and the correlation was established.
