Professionalism

The definition of professionalism is the standing, practice, or methods of a professional, as distinguished from an amateur. There is a lot to know about this subject. But I’m only going to talk about three of the majors which are Common Courtesy, Professional Appearance, and Speech Habits.
    Common Courtesy should be done no matter what. If you do so show courtesy, you will see that you have put yourself out there more than any other person who doesn’t show it. You can thank people for anything, even just being at an interview and send a thank you note just for taking up their time just to be with you. Being respectful to every one you meet. This will impress the people around who whom you meet as well. Being polite and starting a small conversation will do. Another thing to do with showing courtesy is respecting people’s time. If you have an interview with someone, be on time and show up a couple minutes before. Knowing the manager is a very busy person and he’d appreciate that you honor his\her time. Being a flexible person would be a good thing on being a professional as well. People know that them people who succeed in business are the one’s who are flexible.
    Professional Appearance is another major thing on being professional. You want to present yourself as a professional and want to put your best image on. You want to always dress appropriately in the position you are getting hired for. Guys are good to go on just wearing dress shirt and slacks and the women, a nice blouse with slack and or a nice skirt. Never want to show the B’s, which are the butt, back, boobs, and belly.
