Employees are the most important clients of any company. When employees lack motivation and morale, the company risks losing valuable employees. The changing economy and industry competition forces businesses to continually find ways to satisfy employees in order to retain top talent. This paper will analyze Riordan Manufacturing and how they responded to employee dissatisfaction over compensation and rewards. The company has made several strategic changes in the way it manufactures and markets its products and has chosen to adopt a customer-relationship management (CRM) system. Unfortunately, as changes have been implemented, employee retention numbers have declined and an overall decrease in job satisfaction has occurred, particularly in the areas of compensation and benefits. This paper will present a problem statement outlining challenges facing this company, identify opportunities for improvement, and name future end-state goals for the company.

There are several challenges Riordan Manufacturing must overcome in order to accomplish the company’s organizational goals. Riordan’s must first conquer the business strategy that fails to be aligned with the company reward and compensation system.
