Problem Solution: Global Communications
      Although competition is everywhere in the telecommunications industry, Global Communications has the opportunity to expand the business in areas they have not gone before. The expansion of new services will create partnerships with other companies, like the satellite provider. Furthermore, Global Communications has the opportunity to enter the international markets and creating alliances with other countries by moving the call centers to India and Ireland.
      Through the issues and problems faced by the senior leadership team at Global Communications, the company has learned the importance of effective communication. “Communication is also a key driver in knowledge management. It brings knowledge into the organization and distributes it to employees who require that information (McShane-Von Glinow p324). Communication will ensure the organizations potential is not lost or ineffective.

Issue and Opportunity Identification
      “Managers face problems constantly. Some problems that require a decision are relatively simple; others seem overwhelming” (Bateman-Snell p66).  Along with making important decisions comes conflict. Global Communications is faced with important decisions that conflict with opposing pressures from the Union, employees, and stakeholders alike.
