Organizational Trends

In the business world today we find ourselves working over-time and having to work hard to keep up with new technologies so that we stay successful. Success is something that helps drive someone to work hard and to become a better employee. The need for success can sometimes be a double edged sword because you sometimes consider being unethical to become successful and to be given attention. If an organization focuses on these issues they can help the company become protected from ethical problems and also assures that their employees will feel knowledgeable about new technology to alleviate stress in the work place.
Ethics are an important aspect in a company. Ethics not only show within the company but also outside to the public and to other companies. When someone starts an organization they should focus a large amount of time into their ethics program. Ethics cause employees to make different decisions because they know that it is wrong or that they will be punished for making those decisions. For example, in the Verizon Plus sales department there are many times when employees are tested in their ethical behavior. When a customer comes into the store and shows a salesman another salesman’s card the ethical decision would be to ring that sale in for them. If there is an ethics system developed and employees know they will be punished for this behavior, there would be less chance for these kinds of unethical decisions from happening.  Ethics can also effect decision making in other ways such as how an employee acts toward another or what they say to each other. If there is not an ethical standard then there will most likely be some kind of harassment or verbal abuse that will happen because they will not feel like they will be punished.
