Organizational Behavior Terminology And Concepts Paper

In today’s society, Organizational Behavior has become the basis for business operation. Businesses use Organizational behavior, Organizational culture, Diversity, Communication, Organizational effectiveness and efficiency, and Organization learning to create a more successful environment within their companies. Different organizations behave in different manners. This is the reason that OB is such a dedicated field of study. Principle concepts primary to one organization are not guaranteed to be used in another. The study OB covers a plethora of areas to include individual behaviors, interpersonal relationships, and group dynamics.
    In official terms, Organizational Behavior, OB is defined as the study of the dynamics of individuals and groups within a specific organization. OB is all about people and how they function daily within groups. The founding fathers of OB scrutinized these concepts in a very detailed manner: Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology. From these three studies of human behavior, they drew the conclusions that pulled all these extensive studies together and formed basic principles used presently to improve the quality of life in the workforce. The outcome of these studies were contingent upon many different things like ethical behavior, human capital, teamwork, management expectations, the influence of information technology, and work settings (Schermerhorn, Hunt, & Osborne  2005).
