Introduction

This piece of writing starts with the concept of change, which is then followed by the process of change and the hurdles in the way of implementing this process. The types and three phases of change are being discussed in this section. This section is then underpinned by the case of Scania and it has been discussed as to what were the forces that pushed organization to bring the change. The discussion is then carried out with the concept of change management, as it is known that to bring change is not that difficult but to manage the change is a task. Endeavors are being put in this section to explain the concept with the view point of different authors, this section is then followed by the practical case of Scania where changes were being implemented and then they were being managed by the SAN’s management. It has been tried to explain the strategies of Scania’s Management to overcome this problem. The writing carries on with the relationship between leader and culture and then leadership and organizational culture, it was thought to be a good idea of explaining the relationship between leader and culture rather than jumping down straight to organization’s culture. The impact of leader on organization and then organizational culture is being discussed here along with different problems that a leader can encounter in terms of cultural difference.  At the end of this section Scania’s case has been discussed as a practical and most apt example. As SAN was a well diversified organization and it could have ended up in a flop, had there been no good leader’s impact. The writing is then ended with the cocluding remarks.
