My Beliefs and Values Regarding Nursing

I feel that there are many characteristics that a successful nurse must obtain, as well as several different aspects that a nurse has to consider when caring for a patient.  If a person is able to possess these qualities, such as recognizing health as a state of being that each client defines for themselves, but disregards the importance of the person they are treating as well as the environment, then the person is not a successful nurse.
Nursing is a specialized profession that provides the important link between the individual receiving care and the medical environment.
I believe that to be a successful nurse, you must learn how to care for a patient, rather than only treat the patient.  The difference between caring for the client and treating the clients is the assistance that the nurse provides to allow the patient to grow as a person.  I believe that if a nurse were ignore the patients need for care and treat only the problem then he or she would be failing as a nurse.  One only succeeds as a nurse when they are able to look past the problem and see the person.  Only then is one able to provide the quality of care needed.
 People have different qualities that shape who they are.  Nurses however need to posses certain qualities to excel in the field of caring.  When a patient comes in the hospital or any medical setting they tend to be at their most vulnerable state.  This therefore confirms the importance of the nurse's ability to succeed in treating the patient.  During the patients stay the trust between the nurse and their patients is imperative.  If the nurse were to be untrustworthy to the patient the quality of care that the nurse will give, or that ...
