The Problem and Its Background
Introduction
One of the serious problems of education in country is the large percentage of children learning school before completion of their elementary or secondary education was dropping out. The magnitude of this problem may be appreciated when they take into account that 100 children who start in grade I, only about 40 reach grade VI, said Isidro (1985). In high school, it has been estimated that one out of every eight students stops studying before completing the course.
The problem of dropouts impair the effectiveness of the school program, so educational leaders, administrators and the people as a whole must direct their efforts to reducing it. Studies also found out that the chance of having problems with drugs and alcohol increases and the numbers of out-of-school youths. Some of them engage to fraternity and gangs. Much more they became delinquent and unfunctional for the country.
The causes of dropping out had been determined by the researcher. Educational factor, family status, teacher factor and environmental factor are some of these. They also made some necessary actions to know the effects of dropping out among the community, students, family and school. And also to the solutions that may possibly remedy the problems.
The youth are the next generation; they may be promising, dynamic and active. They serve as a future leaders and functionaries of country. When a student fails to continue his studies he may develops a sense of inadequacy and frustration, it indicates the failure of the school system to achieve its goal, the society losses it failure economic productivity. ...
