Company Description
    Nintendo Co., Ltd was started in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi, the great-grandfather of Hiroshi Yamauchi; the former president and current executive adviser. The company’s main goal is to provide entertainment, which is defined as something that brings pleasant surprises with the purpose of putting a smile on the faces of all those who are involved. (1)
    The company believes that for customers to smile, the employees most take joy in creating their products. This is why they aim to identify the roles that are expected of and be able to be played by Nintendo. Through promotion they share and demonstrate the significance of such activities not only with their employees but also with everyone involved. Nintendo acknowledges that “putting a smile in everyone is an enormous challenge that if achieved it will be the ultimate realization of their Corporate Social Responsibility.”(2)
    Something important to mention about Nintendo is that they try to bring families together with their products. They are trying to find ways where they can “enable video games to gain equal accessibility to all members of the family.”  Their efforts have become visible through various products, such as “Wii Sports” and Wii Fit;” they were meant to be used by the entire family.  Thanks to these products the Wii, a home video game console, is now being accepted by people of all ages and genders all over the world, easing the communication process between family members of different group ages.
