Orange Business Services, Formerly Equant.      Corporation, MNC and Publicly Traded on NYSE and Paris SE Under FTE    Currency Exchange Rates: As a company based in France, our currency of choice is the Euro. All pricing is done in Euro’s then converted based upon the currency exchange rate for the country where a deal is being worked. Depending on the current rate, the largest impact is on the profit margin.
Interest Rates: Many of our projects are capital improvement projects, such as MPLS networks, IPT, and data center hosting. This means that occasionally our customers need to borrow money either from a typical source or Orange finances the project and adds the ‘cost-of-money’ to the total contract.    Political Climate: Unfortunately, penetrating the government sector is all but impossible.  Department of Defense and military contractors are also equally hard to secure. Contractors include, but not limited to, Raytheon, McDonnell Douglas, and Lockheed.
Export Restrictions: While Orange does not manufacture goods for export, export restrictions still apply to goods being brought into countries, including computer hardware and software. These export restrictions complicates a deal by forcing Orange to procure equipment and software from vendors within the country where the work is to be performed.
