Advertising: Methods used in order to expose an audience to a message.

Different tones of voice, volumes and talking speeds are often implemented depending on what is being advertised. These techniques are further used in order to get the attention of the viewer.
Target Audience: Different appeals are presented in order to attract the attention of certain groups or sexes. The appeals presented will depend on what is actually being advertised. E.g. A toy ad will be targeted at children. Toy ads will be colorful and appeal to fun. Make the child feel that they'll be happy and free and that this happiness will last.
Headlines: Headlines are used to interest the viewer by catching their eye and making them curious. They may instantly show what is being presented or present a strong benefit when the consumer uses the product. A headline will generally answer the question 'what's in it for me' and will set the tone of the offer. The headline will generally be a large font size so it is easy to read and impossible to ignore.
Music and Jingles: Music creates the atmosphere and mood of the ad. The music used will depend on the products target audience.
