Hmm, chick flicks appropriate for middle school? Here are four that you should pick up:

- The musical version of "Hairspray" that came out in 2007. It's so much fun! It's got a great music and a very talented cast - Zac Efron, Queen Latifah, James Marsden, Michelle Pfeiffer, Brittany Snow, Christopher Walken, etc. Plus, even though it's PG, the subject matter deals with racism, self-acceptance, etc. It's not a babyish premise.

- "Mad Hot Ballroom." Not sure if you've ever seen a documentary, but this is one of my favorites of all time. It's about middle school students in New York City who are learning to ballroom dance. It's so much fun, and you and your friends will probably want to take dance lessons afterwards.

- "Penelope." This was a cute, almost Tim Burton-like movie about a family is cursed, and their daughter is born with a pig's nose. She has to marry one of her own kind to break the curse. It's a lot like a fairly tale. It stars Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, Catherine O'Hara, and Reese Witherspoon, who also produced it.

- "While You Were Sleeping." This is a genuinely funny romantic comedy about a woman (Sandra Bullock) who works in a Chicago el train booth and develops a crush on one of the passengers. Something happens to him, his family begins to think they're engaged, and hilarity ensues. It's a great movie around the holidays because it takes place around Christmas and New Year's.
What Happens In Vegas is probably my favourite.
Clueless, Mean Girls, P.S. I Love You, Just Friends, She's The Man, What Happens In Vegas, Bring It On, The Break Up, Legally Blonde, Charlies Angels, Brigette Jones Diaries, Never Been Kissed, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Devil We ...
