Chapter 1 Case Study
I. Problem Statement: Sir Richard Branson must undertake a good decision process to ensure the safety of all passengers who will be traveling to outer space on the Spaceship 2. He must ensure the safety in order to keep customer satisfaction.
II. Situation Analysis:
a. Organizational Assessment:
? The goal for Sir Richard Branson’s Spaceship 2 is to give the experience of a lifetime to those who have been awaiting the intensity of what space really looks like. The experience may be costly and the competition may be moving in expeditiously that offer lower rates. So the experience has to be worth the experience.
? Advertising is going to have to be enhanced more to the general public to get more involvement. I say this because right now even though he has free web advertisement he will still have to spread the word in order to attract new customers. These additions might create a meritorious cycle as increased advertising would aggrandize sales.
? Government regulation must be enforced to keep passengers coming back.
III. Internal Assessment:
? Sir Richard Branson has the compassion of having a successful launch with the Spaceship 2 but how many are willing to pay the price of $200,000 to travel outer space.
IV. External Assessment
? The competition is Space Adventures and Rocketplane Kistler of which Space Adventure has moved into the area and may increase their sales and profits due to their lower cost of $ ...
