Identification of Case issues and Problems:
In the case under consideration revolves around the Management Trainee programme and we have identified a number of problems with it. The Problems are both identified and highlighted by the candidates who have been direct or indirect part of the programme or they may be spotted by the people at higher posts. One of the root causes which could be identified is that the management in trying to play safe in their recruitment system
has established a well elaborated system. By this we mean that they may be spending certain resources on something which if tackled in some other manner could serve more fruitful to the organization. This in turn leads to a certain loopholes in the programme on the whole:
• The recruitment method is much elaborated and time consuming. This refers to delay in selection of the appropriate candidates for the job. The time to finalize the list of the selected applicants is very long.
• The Content of the test batteries is not very defined and in collaboration with the job description.
• The Design and duration of the programme is faltered; i.e. it’s a lengthy procedure and has been designed with a lot of creep-ins in it.
• The Absorption of the trainees in the permanent jobs is inconsistent and there lie quite a lot of chances that the trainees are not placed in the permanent jobs.
