Managers need to know how to conduct a review to provide useful information for a business. One problem is that managers are less focused on the future of the company. One way to fix this is to have employees set a goal and to reevaluate employees every
six months to see if they are meeting that goal.
It is important to have a scientific measurement so that the administrator and the staff
can interpret clearly the needs of the staff, clients, and administrators. In order to make this successful, everyone needs to understand the instrument and agree with the goals.
Secondly, managers need to set clear definitions for employees of what each job
details. For example, employees should be able to multitask; take criticism, conflict or
hostility stoically, and project a positive outlook on setbacks and disappointments when their day or task isn’t going well.
Thirdly, employees need to have a base foundation in order to accomplish their goals.
They need training and good orientation to perform these tasks proficiently. Employees
will also perform better with a mentor or co-worker showing them how to achieve their
goals within thirty to sixty days. Managers then need to reevaluate the employees again
in thirty to sixty days to see if they have reached their goals. If employees are found to be inadequate send them out for more orientation and training.
