Investment Problems in MIS Projects and the Expected Returns from MIS in Jordan

Abstract:-
This research investigating investments in MIS projects and the problems that the organization in Jordan may encounter and investigating the reasons that make most of Jordanian managers avoid these types of investments. The solutions for these problems and demonstration of profitability of MIS projects should encourage the investment in MIS in Jordan.

Introduction:-
    Although the great revolution in Management Information Systems in all over the world; many businesses in Jordan still don’t use any kind of MIS in there organizations and still depend completely on papers to achieve their business processes or depend partially on more than one information system that are old and each of them serve specific department. This issue may be not just a result from the misunderstanding or misperception of the benefits and advantages of using MIS but it may also results from mistrust of applying it.
Most of Jordanian organization's managers believe that applying MIS is impractical and is just has benefits if the organization is very huge. The reasons for this believes come from the fact that MIS need very long time to apply it and need to be learned from all employees within the organization. All employees and managers should be trained a lot of time to be familiar with the new system; which may strain the employees and the organization as a whole during the converting time (the original work of employee plus the training time for learning about new MIS).
