It is the most powerful instrument of education to bring about desired changes in the students. Teaching and learning are related terms. In teaching - learning process, the teacher, the learner, the curriculum & other variables are organized in a systematic way to attain some pre-determined goal.  Learning defined as the relatively permanent change in an individual's behavior or behavior potential (or capability) as a result of experience or practice and Teaching can be thought of as the purposeful direction and management of the learning process.  For the Humanist Learning Theories (Maslow, Rogers) Learning Process is the personal act to fulfill potential and has a purpose to become self-actualized. The educator facilitates development of the whole person.  In psychology and education, a common definition of learning is a process that brings together cognitive, emotional, and environmental influences and experiences for acquiring, enhancing, or making changes in one's knowledge, skills, values, and world views. Learning as a process focuses in what happens when the learning takes place. Explanations of what happens are called learning theories.  A learning theory is an attempt to describe how people and animals learn, thereby helping us understand the inherently complex process of learning.
