Leadership

To define leadership is a difficult task indeed. We understand the usage of the word yet what it truly means is a question that has a thousand answers, each unique to the one who gives it. Leadership is a quality that can be possessed, an action that can be strived for, a goal to be achieved yet it can also be so much more. I see leadership as the ability to make change, for better or for worse, on a global scale or within oneself, it is the power to choose. Leadership is prominent in every choice we make. Each time we are faced with a decision to make we become leaders.
The world is full of leaders and those who have the potential to become leaders. No one is limited as long as they do not sacrifice their ability to choose. Even those whose “physical freedoms” have been denied still have control over their mental processes and thus can still make a choice. Leadership is a talent that despite many attempts to squash still seems to arise from its ashes often stronger and more impressive for the oppression.
Leadership is not always obvious or visible;it is not only global but also can be seen within an individual. I believe that in every instant we are given a chance to become a leader and though we may never really grasp the ripple effect that our choices have on the world I believe that every individual has the power to change the world they live in. Leadership is visible on every layer of society. It exists within the inner workings of the Government, yet it is also prominent in a parent’s decision to ground a child.
Leaders come from all sorts of backgrounds, they can belong to any race, ethnicity, country and culture, they can be most any age or any gender. Rich or poor a leader can make a difference even if that difference must start within themselves. I ...
