Introduction
Recent trends indicates a marked decline in job satisfaction since the early 1990s. A conference board study found that 58.6% of Americans were satisfied with their job in 1995. By 2002, that percentage was down to 50.4% (Robins, 2005:86). Someone might thinks that the advantages and the technologies man has achieved and invented will improve the quality of life and make our life happier. But this may not true in respect of job satisfaction.
I believe that job satisfaction is an important need to human been, in fact all the needs that was mentioned in Maslow's Needs Hierarchy can be achieved in and by work. He states that a person has 5 types of needs : physiological, security, affiliation, esteem, and self-actualization (Hellriegel and Slocum, 2004:119).
So I thought that it is important and interesting if I choose job satisfaction topic and make research and come out with conclusions about it.
I will try to explore the job satisfaction practically in the "Ministry of Planning". My main concern is to identify the most important work factors related to job satisfaction from the point of view of the employees in the mentioned organization. The basic tool that I used in this research is a survey, which I will give more information about in the next few pages.
Unfortunately, there were two limitations. First, the sample is consider to be small (20 examiners) and it may not represent the general point of view of the organization's employees.
