Intraining report
Considering the theoretical and practical knowledge that I have gained during the first three terms at Institut Hotelier Cesar Ritz, my intraining at Carlton Hotel St. Moritz developed my ergonomic and operational viewpoint of the hospitality and tourism sector as well as my social understanding and behaviour towards clients, colleagues and superiors. This report consists a general description of the Carlton Hotel, guidelines provided by the hotel group, an avowal of the tasks I had to perform, reviews of personal experiences with clients and employees and a critical reflection on how my former education prepared me to succeed in the industry.
When I arrived at St. Moritz on 11th of June, the hotel was still closed. However, each department tried to organize itself to guarantee a smooth workflow for the opening ceremony, which occurred three days later. Therefore, our employees received an individual and special training according to their position and tasks to perform. On account from this I had a comfortable start and felt respected and taken care of straight away.
The Carlton Hotel in St. Moritz is one of three five star hotels of the Tschuggen Hotel Group providing 60 Junior Suites and Suites. Additionally, the Carlton Hotel is member of the Leading Hotels of the World, Swiss Deluxe Hotels and Preferred Hotels including a SPA, which is member of the Leading SPAs of the World; therefore, several standards must be strictly adhered to guarantee satisfied customers.
