The efforts to fight against drunk drivers are an ongoing process. This paper will explore the many facets of this life altering crime. Mothers Against Drunk Drivers is shown to be an asset to law enforcement, yet some feel they are overzealous. Statistics and laws will also be exposed throughout, with special attention drawn to responsibility of the consumer of alcohol and the distributer. The last subject will be a look at the solutions that come with the abuse of alcohol while driving. The message is clear, drinking with driving kills.
Driving While Intoxicated
Imagine driving down the road heading home from school, or the grocery store. Up ahead are spot lights lighting up the night sky. Orange work cones are lined up giving silent direction. Off to the right a diamond shaped sign informs the drivers ahead and behind you that there is a DUI and license check point ahead. Oh well I guess I picked the long way home you think to yourself. As you near the police officers lined up to your left, with their neon safety vests, on you realize that something is going on up ahead of you. As the driver climbs out of the car in front of you staggering to the side of the road you realize that you would have been driving home near this person. How would you feel if you were behind the car of a person who was arrested for driving while intoxicated?
