Creating A Vision

    David Spencer, CEO of InterClean, created a vision to provide a full spectrum of cleaning services and solutions that will become the major avenue for sales.  Although the outcome has been established, the achievement of this goal has not been clearly defined.  Consequently, the staff is confused in how to proceed with the changes.   Janet Durham, VP of Human Resources, has become evasive and does not want her staff to give any information, only instructing them to only field questions as they come instead of trying to be proactive and letting the employees know what is occurring as it comes available.     "Creating a vision of the future requires showing individuals and groups how they will fit into the future.  This might focus on specifying how proposed changes to HRM practices will lead to desirable organizational outcomes – outcomes that work not only to improve firm performance but also to improve the individual's chance of being successful in contemporary labor markets" (Dreher & Dougherty, 2001, p.16-17).  

Training & Development
