Effective Communication
InterClean failed to communicate effectively with lower level employees. This caused rumors and negative effects on productivity. Treating everyone as equals in the company shows that all employees are important to the organization. Firms attempting to signal that all employees are equal with regard to their opportunity to suggest ways for improving operations often remove what they consider to be signs of inequality. (Dreyher and Dougherty 2001).
Morale and Motivation
Employees are the backbone for any company. InterClean needs to find different ways of motivating its employees to help them reach their full potential by defining the roles and responsibilities of every employee.
The morale is extremely low due to the acquisition. Employees believe that the drastic changes would put their jobs at risk. In order for the employees to be motivated they need to believe that they will be effective in the work roles called for in the new organization and that being effective in these roles will lead to desired outcomes. (Dreher & Dougherty, 2001)
