Thursday he expects 15,000 to 20,000 General Motors Corp. workers to take the company's latest round of early retirement and buyout offers.

Ford will offer packages to all 54,000 of its hourly workers as it tries to close or sell some former Visteon Corp. parts plants, eliminate workers who are paid most of their salaries while on layoff and then hire the lower-paid workers. Ford officials won't say how many workers they expect to take the packages, but said about 12,000 are eligible for retirement.

Chrysler is trying to cut up to 21,000 of its 45,000 U.S. manufacturing jobs, giving workers on temporary or indefinite layoff up to $100,000 to sever ties with the company.

This sort of large scale cooperate and industry corporate layoffs present major issues for the Human resources department when the have to first handle the employees on education the and strategically pick the employees with the least amount of skill to keep in the organization and layoff the individuals that are the leased skilled but all so what happens is that a employee loss job security so the one left cannot concentrate on the work cause of the stress caused by insecurity.

 The human resources department is left with the burden of eliminating the many employees. It will run in to the issues of the are going to educate and inform the work that are leaving so there welfare is looked after and help with the transition to avoid class action law suits in the future.
