Location

Shanghai has a total area of 6,340 square kilometers and is divided into 19 districts and 1 county. The most notable new developing district is Pudong New Area. Shanghai is located in the coast of the Yangtze River Delta, which is the richest place of China. Bordering on Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces on the west. It also assumes the central location along China's coastal line. Because of its advantageous geographic location, Shanghai has today become an excellent sea and river port, boasting easy access to a large hinterland.
