Globalization And Irs

Globalization has had a profound affect on the Internal Revenue Service. With many U. S. citizens working and serving overseas in the military more businesses and foreign workers have tax obligations to the United States. All the economic indicators show that this trend is going to continue and with it many challenges lie ahead for the IRS.
     To deal with this ever increasing globalization, the IRS has developed a cross functional approach that they are implementing service wide. This will include international customer service issues along with compliance issues throughout every operating system in the IRS.
     This plan will improve compliance with international tax laws and reduce the tax gap which is created by international transactions include three very important goals.  The first is improving taxpayer service. The second would be increase enforcement of the tax laws. And the third would be to modernize the IRS through its employees, processes and new technology.
     With the flow of trade and capital moving more easily across the world, the global marketplace is developing more each day. With the fast change of pace in the global economy the IRS must equally be ready to change pace in order to keep up with technological advances.
     The IRS must manage its resources strategically, its business processes, and technology systems in order to efficiently and to effectively meet international enforcement and service missions.
