Gene One entered the biotech industry in 1996. Gene One develops new gene technologies helping eradicate diseases in tomatoes and potatoes. With Gene One’s new plan, Gene One plans to work on a 36-month maximum deadline and stay on the competitive market.
Although Gene One grew from a $2 million dollar start-up investment to a $400 million company, Gene One still faces many issues that need to be resolved. Gene One plans to go public. “It is their hope that implementing it will help Gene One realize its growth targets, establish the company as a strong competitor an show Wall Street that Gene One has the leadership and organizational capabilities to succeed as a public entity” (University of Phoenix, Gene One Scenario, 2008). By pursuing Gene One’s goals, Gene One will be practicing benchmarking, work on its organizational culture and other issues it currently faces.
