In this paper one will see the author’s perceptions of some of the issues facing Global Communications and some of the solutions that may be available to address those issues. Additionally the tables at the end of the paper help identify the main issues, the stake holders involved, the parts that they play and ultimately the end goals that the company will need to achieve.

Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
The primary issue facing Global Communications is that the company is no longer profitable. The stock has depreciated over 50% in the matter of three years. The company needs to identify cost saving measures while identifying profit making opportunities.

Company management has made the decision to reorganize how the company does business by eliminating their American based small business unit and outsourcing those positions and responsibilities to call centers based in Europe (Ireland) and Asia (India). The company believes that in combination of the outsourcing and the development of new services that the company will make a turn around and develop into a true international competitor and be a “truly global resource.”

In the implementation of the new and board approved plan a significant number of employees are going to lose their jobs. The company has attempted to move some employees to other departments when feasible however the company is not going to be able to accommodate everyone. To assist as much as possible the company has made the decision to bring in career counselors to assist the displaced employees with finding new employment.
