Terms of reference
The human resources manager Mr. Edward has asked me to write a report about the current role of female manager in today’s business world and furthermore provide information on how to introduce female manager into our company.
Proceedings
I have done research on the internet and collected several statement of manager about the role of female manager. Furthermore I have analyzed article published in specialized manager magazines and gathered additional information from different studies.
Findings
Current market situation
1.A shrinking population and the missing of qualified workers will change the future recruitment process essentially. According to Mr. Achim Berg, CEO of Microsoft, it is necessary to recruit more women in the next five years as otherwise companies might face a serious labour shortage.
2.Women receive 22 per cent less payment than men and even a federal government agreement with umbrella organizations in industry has not brought a change yet.
3.Referring to research results women currently only form 10 per cent of the supervisory board member in German companies.
4.Microsoft in Germany is considered as one of the leading companies regarding the recruitment of women as 28 per cent of Microsoft’s employees are female. The company as a role model offers help in the field of day-care as well as babysitting and several other family services. Furthermore it also offers al kinds of part-time arrangements, including job sharing possibilities and home work after during and after their maternity.
