In the present day, there are vast amount of literature about ethic, there is however no universal agreement on the exact definition of what ethic is. Many philosopher link ethics to human behaviour toward right or wrong based on conventional morality. It is commonly associated with every aspects of personal life, such as truthfulness, honesty, integrity, respect for others, fairness, and justice.
The definition statement emphaise on the right and wrong. It is a statement contains strong controversial argument, as because there is no agreement on what is exactly being right or wrong.
There are many perspectives should be taken into account when giving statement such as being right or wrong: religions and background; culture; business decision and personal decisions.
The definition provided above is still unclear, it only provides a broad view of what ethic is. It is argued that the ambiguity between what is right and wrong is partly due to the lack of ethical practice in the companies that have built corporate world. It is also argued by Dubinsky (2007) that ethicality and legality also play an vital role in the definition of ethics. Moreover, it is vital for organization to understand the meaning of ethics and practice it, in which case an ethical organization should encourage honesty and truth telling and builds trust and confidence among its staff and customers.
