Ethical Decisions

Morality and ethics play an immense part in how we react and respond on a daily basis. Morality is defined as a code of conduct that factors right or wrong and ethics represent the reason behind a person actions, thoughts, and beliefs. Morals are simply the values you live by, and ethics are the process by which you put your values into action. Here are some examples of morality and ethics:  A person may feel that cigarette smoking is immoral. On the other hand, cigarette smoking is not unethical. In this instance, you find someone who is vegan who feels that people that eat meat are vile and disgusting.  In my opinion, it is unethical to force your personal morals on others. The moral philosophy that does align with my values is relativism. I’m a Christian and I have beliefs and values that may differ from anyone else.
One moral philosophy I feel is best suited for making business decisions is utilitarianism. What defines utilitarianism is the act of maximizing good for humanity or a theory that a right or wrong action is determined by positive or negative results. I once considering using legalism unfortunately, this philosophy has severe flaws due to its radical and strict views. Utilitarianism relates to me from a business stand-point because of the emphasis that placed on a high number of honest standards to gain even higher rewards. The only negatives about utilitarianism are that it’s based on the outcome of actions and not proven to be an ideal system....
