Establishing a greater presence on Kava: implementation plan
Establishing LukOil’s greater presence on Kava is seen to be achieved through discovering major oil deposits and launching extraction program, plus transportation to already existing refineries on the continent by building pipelines (that is to use Kava as a source of natural resources).
The implementation plan is defined as follows:
1. Discovery of oil deposits.
2. Their evaluation
3. Bringing and setting all the equipment necessary for extraction
4. Building the shortest possible pipelines connected to the already existing ones.
Factors affecting implementation
Firstly, there are certain external factors:
One of the most obvious problems the company will face on Kava is natural disasters. The risk of hurricanes, tsunami and floods are known to be high. Therefore, it would be recommended to form a research team involving scientists specializing in Kava’s landscape and climate conditions in order to identify the locations of oil deposits with the smallest risks of natural disasters.
The other problem LukOil may encounter is demographical: 50% of population are under 15 years old which poses the problem of recruitment for the human resources department. But the solution is seen in introduction of part-time employment programs for those under 16, as well as high technology that will reduce the amount of workforce needed for certain production services.
Another problem is emotions around green companies. In today’s world only lazy would not speak of ecological problems. Unfortunately, there are a lot of companies using it only to create a positive image. Cary Cooper (2007) states: “the green agenda is so poli ...
