Entro To Ethics

The relations that arise between ethics and freedom in regards to the individual and community well being are complex just as they are simple. Freedom is given to us in society but with a set of ideals and social rules. As a society we entrust the people with the highest form of education to help us maintain our well-being; lawyers, doctors, teachers, pastors, mayors, etc. They assure that my person as a whole is looked after and they let us know when something is wrong, needs to be changed, or needs to be addressed. We drive the road they pave for us. So, in turn they must use this trust in a way that would both benefit them and us. If at any point in this relationship do any of these persons come across a new form of thinking or information that could be beneficial to society as a whole, it is ethically sound that they release that information. Yet, it is very common, that with this same concept it does not inherently apply to the rest of society. We ignorantly pay a price for maintaining our well-being. To argue or question our world is our right but, be careful to not overstep or undermine what advice you have been given to the people that you entrust would know best. Not only would it not be considered with the highest regard but, would actually be suppressed, making it harder for someone to reach a higher self-awareness. To restrain a person who has entrusted you with part of their well-being is not ethical by any means. So, we are given a bit of room to make a change for ourselves so as to not seem too empowered or have been put on a “leash for the great unthinking mass” (Kant, pg 2).
