Entrepreneurship

Introduction                                    

Entrepreneurship is the ‘creation of organisations (Gartner 1989)’. To date no one has been able to completely define what entrepreneurship is. Two main schools of thought divide the term as either a functional approach or the trait approach. The functional approach focuses on the role of entrepreneurship within the economy and the trait approach defines an entrepreneur with a specific ‘set of personality traits and characteristics (Gartner 1989)’.   

Within this subject many studies have been conducted on the different aspects of entrepreneurship for example creativity and innovation, entrepreneurial motivation, entrepreneurial networking and entrepreneurial stress and coping mechanisms just to name a few. These are what we believe to be some of the major topics that fall within entrepreneurship.  We have conducted literature reviews on these four topics to analyse arguments from scholars enabling increased understanding when interviewing our real life entrepreneur, Mr. Robert Grey.
