      Capricorn records was established in 1969 by Phil Walden and Jerry Wexler and
is known for spearheading the southern rock/jam music, which was led by the Allman Brothers Band and most recently Widespread Panic. The label started in Macon and is now located in Atlanta. Along with helping to launch the careers of the Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic, Capricorn has also helped bands like the Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie, Col. Bruce Hampton and even R & B’s Percy Sledge.
    The demand for this genre of music and entertainment would be considered an insatiable demand because not only does everyone want and long for some form of entertainment, this type of music has a huge following all across the nation and Capricorn produces many bands that release many albums. Most of these bands tour all year long and play 150 to 200 nights in a single year. The meaning of insatiable demand is when a person is never satisfied and always wanting more. Along with a rigorous tour schedule all of these bands have a very strong fan base that follows them from city to city. Bands like Widespread Panic have never played the same show twice in their twenty years plus in touring, meaning they do not have the same set list, and this is what leaves the fans wanting more. Since Capricorn has many different artists the fans or consumers of this genre of music have many different albums and concerts to choose from so in essence the fans can go to view different bands three to five nights a week and have a plethor ...
