Marketing is a process of developing, pricing, promoting and distributing goods, services and also ideas to satisfy the needs and wants of consumers. This process is done by either an individual or an organization to obtain what they need and want by creating and exchanging products and value with others. Marketing is also concerning on developing and retaining customer relationship in order to give mutual benefit to both; marketers and customers.

Marketing has started with the production era, that is before any technology had been influenced the traditional marketing. Most activities are more to the production oriented; producing quality products rather than sales. This era was focused on the production, product and also the selling concept.

But then, it has evolves to the sales era where this era applied a philosophy that assumes non-essentials products and services couldn’t sell due to resistance in purchasing.

After sales era, marketing again have evolute to marketing era, which in this era focused more on customer orientation. Customer orientation is where the company will try to fulfil the consumer’s needs by determining and also identifying the target market’s needs and wants. This will bring the desire satisfaction more effective and efficient than other competitors.
