Does God Exist

The existence of God and mans origin has been a controversial topic since the beginning of time, Philosophers, theologians, and lay persons have been, and always will be debating this subject. The purpose of my paper will be to analyze this topic giving my own opinions, and those of others that I have come across in my research. The different arguments from each side of the spectrum are quite interesting and often equally believable. There is an abundance of information on this subject because it is such a popular topic of debate.
To begin, I would like to state an opinion of mine that I believe is very relevant in this discussion. For one to truly have a belief  in something, an element of faith  will always be needed. For me to believe in the existence of God, there is going to come a point when I must have faith in God and the validity of my belief. Most of the points that believers in God give for His existence can be countered by atheists. Is God real? Are we here by chance? If we weren’t created by God, rather by an explosion or oozing out of a pool of slime, what is our purpose in life? Is there an after life? I will evaluate the relevance of these questions and examine the many theories of atheists .
Philosophers will spend a lifetime arguing about the meaning of a word and never really get there. One is reminded of the college student who was asked how his philosophy class was going. He replied that they had not done much because when the teacher tried to call roll, the kids kept arguing about whether they existed or not.
